Insurance is important to consider in any household move.

Household belongings insured through a Home Contents policy are generally not covered if the goods are in transit.

Restricted Cover covers your goods whilst on the truck in transit

Therefore it covers such things as:

  • Damage or loss following a collision.
  • Overturning of the truck.
  • Loss of damage due to fire or explosion, lightning or flood.
  • Entry of water into the container while goods in transit.

Although Restricted Cover is not as extensive as Full Cover Insurance – it does give some degree of cover for those major occurrences that could unpredictably occur.

Full Cover Standard

Insure your belongings at replacement or market value, insuring your goods for a minimum of $10,000 cover for a premium of $330. Any additional cover is charged at a premium of 3% + GST declared value.

Restricted Cover

Insures your belongings against loss or damage directly resulting from a specified peril as detailed in the policy wording.
If items are lost or totally destroyed You receive the equivalent replacement value You receive the equivalent replacement value
If items are damaged (and can be repaired) You receive the reasonable cost of repair or restoration up to the equivalent replacement value or declared value You receive the reasonable cost of repair or restoration up to the declared value
